You Ji VLS-2000ATC vertical turning lathes are large, high precision, heavy-duty machines, competitively priced for heavy-duty turning of large size workpieces. Maximum turning diameter is 98.4″ (2500 mm). The rigid double columns, cross rail, and machine base are Meehanite castings, heavily ribbed to minimize thermal distortion and dampen vibration.
The X and Z axes are a rigid box way design coated with Turcite B. The Z axis is a large 9″ x 9″ (228 mm x 228 mm) square cast steel ram that is rigid even when extended its full 37.4″ (950 mm) length. Class 3 ballscrews are 2.48″ (63 mm)-dia. and driven directly by servo motors, eliminating belts or gears. The hydraulically clamped cross rail moves on box ways in 7.87″ (200 mm) increments.
